Professional Development
"Young children’s teachers are architects of our country’s tomorrows. That is why it is so vital for staff to receive the resources and support they need to ensure that each child realizes his or her potential."
—Joanne Brady, EDC Vice President
We view staff as the key to providing high-quality services to children and their families. Our content-rich, rigorous programs and workshops give staff the tools they need to help children thrive in school.
Find out more about our professional development initiatives:
- Excellence in Teaching Courses is a series of comprehensive professional development programs designed for early childhood teachers and their supervisors.
- Online Resources Currently, LL&EL has project websites and an online course available, Foundations of Supervision for Early Childhood Managers.
- ELLCO Training The Early Language & Literacy Classroom Observation (ELLCO) Toolkit allows educators to gather crucial information on the quality of early language and literacy environments and instruction. This data can then be used to enhance young children’s preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school language and literacy experiences.
