Sheila A. Skiffington

Sheila A. Skiffington

Sheila A. Skiffington has decades of experience and special expertise in policy analysis, program and staff development, and alignment of standards and practices across systems from preschool through the primary grades. She has a unique ability to bring people together and to facilitate change across complex early childhood arenas. Currently, Ms. Skiffington is working on several early education improvement initiatives, including developing a national web-based assessment and planning system for Head Start and providing technical assistance to the National Institute for Literacy on the distribution and use of its early childhood resources. Given her success in supporting cross-sector collaborations among the field's diverse programs in order to assure children's school readiness, Ms. Skiffington is frequently sought by local, state, and national leaders for consultation, facilitation, and training. She holds a degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Rhode Island.
