Ordering the Guides

Whether or not you are affiliated with a Head Start program, you can order copies of each of our five guides. The difference is that the guides are free of charge to members of the Head Start community; for non-members, the guides are available for a nominal fee.

If You Are a Member of the Head Start Community:

There are two ways to order all of the guides from the National Training Contract Series, including Disabilities Services, Education, Health, Managment, Parent Involvement, Social Services, and Transitions. You can get a complete listing of these guides by:

1.) Visiting the Head Start Information and Publication Center website at:

You can submit your order directly through the site. The Head Start Publications Management Center, a service of the Head Start Bureau, supports the Head Start community and other organizations working in the interest of children and families by providing information products and services; conference and meeting support; publication distribution; and marketing and outreach efforts.

2.) Fax an order form (downloadable from the website), or your order on program letterhead with your director's signature, to the HSPMC in Alexandria, VA at (703) 683-5769.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a fax number! The Publications Center does not have a phone number. Please do not call.

If you are NOT a Member of the Head Start Community:

You may be able to obtain a copy of the guides from the Government Printing Office, Document Control Division, in Pittsburgh, PA. Prices of guides in the series, including our guides, range from $6.50 to $14.00. Call the number below for pricing and availibility.
