I'm Peggy Enright, the project director of the National Head Start Disabilities Services Training Center. I have worked on Head Start-related projects at EDC for almost 15 years, as a trainer, writer, and developer of model programs and professional development curriculum in the areas of mental health, social services, and disabilities services. For the past 12 years, my husband and I have also been the directors of the Boston Ronald McDonald House, where we have had the privilege of learning from thousands of families facing the trauma of childhood cancer. |

I'm Doris Landau Fine, and I'm a training specialist at the National Head Start Disabilities Services Training Center. I have worked with children and youth with disabilities, their families, and teachers in a number of community settings, including early intervention programs, Head Start, and public schools. I have also been a member of the faculty of Northeastern University, where I developed courses introducing physical therapy students to practice in educational settings, and have lectured extensively at Boston University, Wheelock College, and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I have published a number of articles, and recently co-authored a book on inclusive education. |

Hi. My name is Sharon Grollman. I am a writer for the National Head Start Disabilities Services Training Center. We have a great team, and we all play a role in developing the guides-from conceptualization, to writing, to production. I've learned a lot from the team; I've also learned a great deal from people in the field: Head Start teachers, directors, parents, and technical assistance specialists. I started my career as a school psychologist, working in schools, hospitals, and mental health clinics. I have also been a researcher, working on child-related research projects. Additionally, I have written several children's books, including Shira: A Legacy of Courage, and developed lots of software curriculum packages for young children. What I love most, though, is writing. |

Hello, I'm Carol Howard. I'm a training specialist for the National Head Start Disabilities Services Training Center. I like to describe my role as the traveling sales person for the project, but I am involved in all aspects of developing the training guides. I began my career as a bilingual special needs teacher in the Boston Public Schools. I've been at EDC for several years now and I've worked on a number of different projects that focus on the strengths and needs of children with disabilities and their families. I have taught students of all ages. My work takes me to Head Start programs and events all over the country. At state and regional events, I conduct focus groups on our guide topics, field test activities and train staff on how to use the materials. I like that this role has given me the chance to meet interesting people from all over the country. |

I'm Andrea Nix, the senior research assistant for the National Head Start Disabilities Services Training Center (that's my little bro, Doug, next to me in the cute turtleneck). In this role, I perform a wide range of tasks, from writing content for and tweaking the layout of the guides, to photographing Head Start teachers in action, to developing this web page. I am also a recent graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where I studied Technology in Education. If you should have questions about this page, our project, or the Center for Children & Families, I'm the person to ask: you can contact me via e-mail at peggye@edc.org. |
